Dyslexia is common - it affects approximately 20% of the population!
Dyslexia is not tied to intelligence.
Dyslexia can run in families - but it is not a guarantee that a parent with dyslexia means that the child will have dyslexia
Dyslexia is not just "seeing things backwards" or flipping b's and d's
People with dyslexia can learn to read.
We provide individualized dyslexia intervention to help students become confident, proficient, joyful, and lifelong readers and writers. Our approach is personalized to each child's instructional needs and interests, but common features include:
50-minute instructional sessions
evidence-based, multisensory, structured literacy instruction aligned with the science of reading
integrated literacy instruction in reading, writing, spelling, and handwriting
diagnostic-prescriptive instruction, based on assessment data
assessment reports, parent meetings, and ongoing progress monitoring
research-based instructional resources, including LETRS, Wired for Reading, UFLI, and Heggerty, selected according to each student's specific instructional needs
